ESTABLISHING LINKS BETWEEN NORTH AMERICA AND ICELAND

  1. Help organize various tours of Icelanders to North America or vice versa

  1. Possibly buy and establish a "felagsheimili" "Canadian House" in Reykjavik, Iceland. It would be a form of a guesthouse and some good office space. It would be a place for investors and/or friends of theirs to stay while in Iceland. It would also be a place for small businesses and groups to establish a presence in Iceland. As this would take a great deal of funding some of my ideas are as follows;

                           A) Private Individuals:

·         People who would plan to use the facility or can relate to the importance of such a facility.

·         For the betterment of Icelandic- Canadian cultural exchange

·         Students attending/plan on attending school or University in Iceland

                            B) Business:

·         Tourism businesses - Travel companies - Hotels and Resorts -Time Share Facilities -Bus/Charter companies -Recreational vehicle rentals companies -Real estate companies

·         Importers and Exporters - Iceland is not a huge market but it is a great connection to Europe and the EEC  "Winnport" CN, CP Rail

·         Newspapers -Winnipeg Free Press -Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto Sun, The Globe and Mail, The National Post, etc. Sales and correspondents

·         Magazines -MacLean's, Sales, subscriptions and correspondents

                             C) Non Profit Business and Groups:

·         Logberg Heimskringla, could use it as an office in Iceland

·         Snorri Program, Icelandic head office

·         Educational Institutions -Universities, Colleges- High Schools and Specialized Training like flight training schools.

·         Icelandic Canadian Magazine

·         Icelandic National League

·         New Iceland Heritage Museum

                              D) Government:

·         Canadian Federal - Tourism, Investment, Trade and Export

·         Provincial Governments - Tourism, Investment, Export

·         Cities, Towns and Municipalities- Tourism, Investment

  1. Buy and Establish a Facility in Gimli, Manitoba, "Icelandic House" Same kind of facility as in Iceland. Place for Icelanders visiting New Iceland. A part guesthouse, which would also help Icelanders find other accommodations. Part of it would be an office for businesses and groups from Iceland.
